Raymond James Capital functions as Raymond James Financial’s (NYSE-RJF) private merchant banking subsidiary. We invest on behalf of Raymond James in carefully selected private companies in order to generate attractive returns on invested capital.

We most often invest with seasoned managers as our partners.  We assist management teams in maximizing the value of their business, helping them benefit from new or continuing ownership. Our investments, which will always be in the form of equity, include recapitalizations or buyouts of family, entrepreneurial or corporate owned businesses. We will invest $10 million to $50 million in a single opportunity. We will consider companies with revenues in excess of $20 million and meaningful positive cash flow which are in industries we believe have long-term favorable prospects.  We have expertise in many industries including: industrial growth, consumer products, energy, health care, and service businesses.  We prefer businesses with a recurring fulfillment or contractual revenue business model.  In other words, we like businesses that touch customers regularly with value-added products or services.

To identify, negotiate and add value to potential investments, the principals of Raymond James Capital have access to the full resources of Raymond James, including our Investment Banking and Equity Research Departments. We believe that the combination of the experience of Raymond James Capital principals and the Raymond James resources at our disposal allows us to maximize the opportunities for our clients.
